Hello All,
In the ongoing improvements at the range, sometimes old faithful items have to be retired. Such is the case with the water truck!! The current one at the range is a 1950's model. Parts are no longer available and it has reached the stage of it not being able to be maintained.
There will be coming shortly a notice for a special meeting along with a request for an absentee ballot, in which the Board will ask the general membership permission to spend up to $40,000. for a new water truck. This does not mean that the Board will necessarily spend the full amount. The Board is also looking into downsizing the water truck to see if we can obtain a smaller unit. The Ranch Murieta Fire Dept. has stated that they consider themselves the " first response" and therefore do not have any criteria as to the minimum size water truck we need to have.
This is still a SAFETY issue and we need to have a water truck on the premises for fires as well as dust control and small construction projects.
I hope all is going well for everyone! Drink plenty of water and keep your barrels from getting to hot.
Thank you,
John Stowell
