Let me begin by thanking Jim Bass for his service as President of the Folsom Shooting Club for the last three years. Jim persevered through the tough times, club growth and never ending changes the club faces daily. Jim tackled some very difficult challenges during his presidency with the club. Without his leadership, hard work, and dedication our club would not have reached the level of growth and maturity we are at today. Jim"s time as President of Folsom Shooting Club is appreciated and has not gone unnoticed.
I would now like to introduce myself as the new President of the Folsom Shooting Club. For those of you whom I have not had the pleasure of meeting face to face, let me introduce myself.
My name is Vu Pham, I am 34 years old, and I have been a member of the Folsom Shooting Club for approximately 10 years. I have worn many hats here at the club including serving on the Board of Directors as Vice President for the last 3 years, match director, participant, and member. Serving as your President will now be my fourth term as a club officer of FSC. I currently work in the IT field by day, and when I am not on the range you can find me enjoying a variety of outdoor activities.
In addition to serving on the FSC BOD, I also co-founded NorCal Practical Precision Rifle Club in 2006 and currently serve on that Board or Directors, and as President. My partner Shawn S. and I started this organization from the ground up and I fully understand what it takes to lead and be lead when needed. NCPPRC is now the nation"s largest tactical/practical precision rifle club. Members of NCPPRC can be found either shooting on Range 12 (1000yard Range) or Range 6 (Steel Silhouette Range).
As Jim Bass mentioned in his previous message to the members, I will face many challenges ahead of me. However, I am confident in my ability to lead and more importantly I believe in the team that comprises our Board of Directors. All great leaders know that they are only as good as the people who surround them. I believe I will be successful, and more importantly I believe FSC will be successful because of our Board of Directors, range staff and club members.
I am open to discussing any suggestions, ideas, questions or concerns our membership may have. Please feel free to contact me any time after 6 p.m. by telephone or by email anytime. My contact information is listed below and is also available on our website at www.sacvalley.org.
I look forward to seeing you at the range!
